At Moon Ridge all our domestic ducks are reared outside and are truly hardy , they have access to spring water and basic shelter . All our youngsters are reared in mixed groups . During the breeding season all our breeding stock are chosen for their quality and standards they are spilt into small groups with a high ratio of drakes to ducks to ensure a high fertility in the hatching eggs we sell . We breed call ducks , Cayuga's , Indian runner ducks ,
silver appleyards ,khaki campbells.
When available we sell our ducks from day olds , sexed which we guarantee. Our breeds are pure and of show standard we do not sell cross breeds and hatch and rear all our own ducks . Access to the rearing areas is not possible as we like to keep this area disease free but always have a small selection of ducklings when rearing for you to view . If you want any of our ducks it is always best to call and check availability
All our domestic ducks are great for egg laying in particular the khaki campbell who will outlay many chickens , and whose eggs sell for a premium in tesco duck eggs are £1.99 for six !!
Ducks are fun and enjoyable to keep , they are hardy and very self sufficient and will generally browse for food amongst their given area finding up to 75% of their feed this way . They are the best slug control you can get with many commercial nurseries using runner ducks for this purpose!!
