The Brahma is a gentle giant, known for its impressive size, calm nature, and striking feathered legs. Brahmas are friendly, easy to handle, and do well in mixed flocks. They are fair layers, producing around 150–200 medium to large light brown eggs per year. Their hardy constitution makes them well-suited to colder climates, and their majestic appearance adds beauty and presence to any poultry yard. The Brahma was created in America in the mid-19th century from breeds bought in from India and China.
Their feathered legs mean they prefer not to be in muddy conditions. Make sure you have the pop holes, nest boxes e.t.c to accommodate their larger frame
