Quail – Coturnix

Our Coturnix quail are excellent pets and dual purpose birds. Our lines are bred for their docile nature, practicality and vigour. We also have some great colours.

Coturnix hens can lay up to 300 eggs per year (outlaying most chickens) and the eggs are also more nutritious with higher protein, iron, selenium and vitamins A, B2, B12

Low maintenance birds they are highly disease resistant and need very little space compared to chickens

Quail need to be kept in a group, which can be all female. A ratio of 1 male to 5 females is recommended for fertile eggs, too many males leads to overbreeding.
